About

Aunt Leona tells her nephew in A Cappella right before her 11 o’clock number, “We all take some wrong turns, that’s how we get where we’re going”. I grew up in Rochester, NY, but I’ve lived in Atlanta long enough to miss snow. After getting a BFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University I had a studio in the Torpedo Factory outside of DC; graduate studies in Writing for Art History at the Art Institute of Chicago (while taking jazz dance at Columbia). I made art until I moved to Atlanta and into Advertising (Portfolio Center). I had a career as an art director before and while raising two strong girls. Their fearlessness inspired me to bring my writing out of the closet and onto the stage. While writing in other people’s voices, I guess I’ve found my own.

My work has been in theaters, festivals, and micro-arenas around the country; Australia and Germany. as well. Additional workshops, readings, seminars, etc: ASCAP/NY; NMI/ New Musicals Inc, LA; CTI/Commercial Theater Inst.; TRU/Theatre Resources Unltd; NYMF/New York Musical Festival; TYA /One Theater World; Dramatists Guild Institute; BMI, Alliance Theatre
